Rescue Of A Scared Dog Abandoned On A Highway – In Black And White

Rescue is (or should be) such a genuine act – and feeling. It actually makes you feel like a rock star – no plans, no schedule, no conformity of any kind. One moment you are in your car driving somewhere, where people are waiting, a table has been set or a wedding is about to take place, and the next moment you simply let life take you wherever she (life is a woman) has decided to.

Rescuing An Orphaned Baby Bird – Guess Who Couldn’t Care Less

Rescuing was always about private initiative I guess. Some of us have a soft spot for cats, dogs, baby birds, turtles..whatever. So, you rescue one, then another, then you meet some people who feel the same, make an organization, rescue some more, get organized and then the state comes along and says: “I couldn’t care less about baby birds, but since you do, here’s some money. You do the hard work and I act cool and generous”.

After A 4 Month Struggle To Stay Alive, Sam Is Finally Home

Sam’s story started four months ago, when he was found by a SPAZ volunteer dragging himself on the side of the road. He had been hit by a car weeks before probably, he had gone through the terrible pain and the agony on his own, struggling to stay alive, to find shelter, food and water, with his legs smashed and his spirit crushed.

Dog Found Tied Next To A Field With A Note For The Rescuers

Dog abandonment in Greece is such a common thing, that most rescuers don’t even blink anymore, every time a new dog appears. Some are left on the streets, some on the mountains, some are left tied with notes and some are left tied in the middle of nowhere to die of hunger and thirst.

Burnt Alive, Poisoned And Tortured – Take Action For Zante Stray Dogs

Burnt, poisoned, tortured, decimated… Can you really grasp the meaning of those words? Language is an amazing thing, able to capture meanings, feelings and events too complicated, and yet, the actual “essence” of some events seems to be bubbling over the word itself.

Animals In Greece This Week (again)

I had been wanting to do this for so long. This is the second one of these videos and making them is probably a way for me to “get it out of my system”. What happens here in Greece every single day can never be covered by my daily blogs or a rescue video I upload per week.

Sick Dog Rescued And Transformed Is Still Looking For A Home After One Year

Sick and emaciated, Serios was wandering alone where all those dogs wander, somewhere in rural Greece, next to the highway, among people passing by, cars driving by and life going on unbothered by “just another dog’s” struggle to make it through another day.

Owner Leaves His Dog Tied With A Note For The Rescuers

Owner = a person who owns; legal possessor. Dog owner = responsibility, patience, sacrifice, love etc. Dog owner (in this case) = someone take care of my problem. As sad, disgusting, and awful as it sounds, it did not just happen once. In Greece it happens every day, and in this case the “owner” was considerate enough to leave a note.

Mother Dog Gave Birth Chained Without Food In The Middle Of Nowhere

Mother dogs are probably the most vulnerable of all our misfortunate Greek little heroes. Giving birth alone, on the streets, nursing and caring some of the least fortunate puppies ever, desperately looking for food and water while leaving their off springs behind, to be the easiest prey for the worst of predators: humans.
