Stray Dog Violated By Having Football Team’s Name Spray Painted On Her

Stray dogs are in a constant game of Russian roulette (have said before). So, one day they live their lives among the “pack of humans” they consider they belong to, and the next day they are poisoned, ran over, abused or..spray painted.

Dog Wandering With Broken Jaw For 15 Days While Nobody Helped Her

Dog abuse, neglect, abandonment – you name it- in Greece, is like the Doctor Jekyll of our “hospitable, kind, proud and warm” Mediterranean self. The kind shepherd you ask for directions is the same person who can potentially hang, shoot or drown his hunting dog for not doing its job and the nice lady who serves you homemade Geek dishes is the same lady who poisons her next door neighbor’s cats. Dog Found With Legs Tied, Shoved In A Sack And Abandoned In The River

Dog disposal in Greece comes in many forms. You can shoot it, hang it, or shove it in a bag and let it drown in a river or the sea. This is not an exaggeration and yes, it happens more often than you can imagine, especially in rural Greece, where apparently people still live in the Middle Ages. Scarecrow – Dog Chained For Life And Living In His Feces

Scarecrow in flesh and blood. Chained and left in the middle of nowhere is how  most dogs spend their entire lives in Greece. Chained Dog Dies From His Injuries Days After He Is Rescued

Chained dogs in Greece are like the stars in the sky, just too many. There are no official statistics, but judging from experience, one out of two “pet” dogs in Greece spends its entire life chained, and dies without ever being exercised, socialized, or even petted. One of those dogs was Lefteris, which is Greek for “free.” At least that’s what SPAZ, the charity that rescued him called him. Rescue In That Terrible Place We Call Home

First of all I need to apologize. Most of you who follow my Youtube channel and the blog know that I’m all about positivity. I never post anything that may prevent you from sleeping at night, unless the animal has already been rescued and is now safe. I am simply against making viewers and followers feel sick, posting any material that might spoil the rest of their day. So I just suck it in, and share the bright side of animal rescue – the one where the dogs have recovered and their suffering is buried in the past.
