Pure Strays – 15 Gorgeous Dogs Rescued From The Streets

Pure strays, rescued from the streets of Greece, abandoned, unwanted, and yet most of them purebred and gorgeous. Personally, I am a huge mix breed fan and always will be, they are the most unwanted and my priority when it comes to rescue. But every time a Siberian Husky or a Shar Pei is found wandering the streets abandoned and confused, I can’t help but wonder: How is it possible? Why abandon it? It could have found a new home in no time. Continue reading Pure Strays – 15 Gorgeous Dogs Rescued From The Streets

Love – Greek Animal Charity Crowd Funding Campaign

LOVE is one of the oldest charities in Greece, based in Thessaloniki, Greece’s second biggest city. Their shelter was built in May 2000 by volunteers, in an effort to join their forces and help as many companion animals as they could. Murdering Greek Strays In Larissa – Nominated European Cultural Capital of 2021

Murdering the strays is one of Greece’s most common traditions, practiced by individuals and sometimes even by official channels. It is a method of population control that has been going on for generations, and no matter how much animal lovers and charities try their best to protect the innocent, it is simply never enough. Being involved in Animal Welfare in Greece is never easy, but dealing with mass murder every day can make you sick. Animal Lovers Run A Marathon To Raise Awareness

It was the first time I joined the Penny Marathon this year, but it definitely won’t be the last. I didn’t run, but next time I will. I didn’t have my Penny Marathon T-shirt on, but next time I will. I won’t be wasting your time trying to describe what the experience is like and what running for the animals feels like– the video covers all five hours of our journey, from the first meeting point to the finish line. I will just try to answer briefly any questions you might have. Continue reading Animal Lovers Run A Marathon To Raise Awareness

Penny Marathon – From Australia To Greece

I could say that the Penny Marathon is just another animal welfare non-profit organization, but it’s a lot more. The Penny Marathon is a chance for all of us to go out there once a year, among the public, and speak for all companion animals that keep waiting in shelter kennels or out on the streets – waiting for a chance. Once a year, instead of hiding behind heartbreaking Facebook posts and cries for help through online fundraising campaigns, we run a Marathon, wearing our Penny Marathon T-shirts, hoping to get the attention of people who might never had heard of what rescuing is actually about and might never had come across an animal welfare Facebook page or website. The Penny Marathon barely makes it to the eight o’clock news – but at least we make it to the streets, and that’s awesome. Continue reading Penny Marathon – From Australia To Greece

Rescue In That Terrible Place We Call Home

First of all I need to apologize. Most of you who follow my Youtube channel and the blog know that I’m all about positivity. I never post anything that may prevent you from sleeping at night, unless the animal has already been rescued and is now safe. I am simply against making viewers and followers feel sick, posting any material that might spoil the rest of their day. So I just suck it in, and share the bright side of animal rescue – the one where the dogs have recovered and their suffering is buried in the past. Continue reading Rescue In That Terrible Place We Call Home

Racism And Dogs – Stereotypes We Fight Against

March 21 is the international day for the elimination of racism. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely do not want to take advantage of that just to make a point, but this is a pet blog, and racism is very much present when it comes to breeds, adoptions and rescues. All of us who volunteer and have dedicated our lives in rescuing and rehoming have to face it every day, and do our best to fight it anyway we can.
