Rescuer’s Reply To The Family Who Returned Adopted Dog

There is little to none we can do about dogs being returned. Basically, for me it’s about getting back the dog as soon as possible, because the last thing we want is to have them stay where they are not wanted.

I am still very angry about this particular dog and everything that went wrong with the adoption, and since I have learned to express myself through these videos, well, here’s my answer to the family.

You can read Crtistie’s full story here. If you are interested in adopting her, please email me (at: [email protected]) or SCARS (at:[email protected]).

Thanks for accepting this angry side of me (and for watching the embarrassing video above).

  1. I, too, am thankful they brought her back to you. I think the problem lies in the actual adopting of her. I think the lady was willing to adopt but not really able. Maybe it would have been better to have put her there on a trial basis, especially since they already had a large dog and she was in charge of small children. Not a good situation at best for a stray, no matter how gentle the stray is, to be put in the middle of all these unfamiliar circumstances. Anyway, I’m glad she’s back in good hands.

    1. There were no young children in the house, the youngest person on a family of three was 25 years old. We never put the dogs on a trial basis, the whole concept is wrong. Families that are responsible enough adopt and are informed of their obligations. Besides, having a dog going back and forth to temporary home confuses and stresses the animal even more. This specific dog was taken home with a dog trainer and the family was free to call him any time. They never did. And they never followed his orders.
